Zones
Each round a spot lights up somewhere on the board, the same one for every player. Your darts score by how close they land: 5 points in the inner zone, 3 in the middle and 1 in the outer. Zones is a darts accuracy drill for the whole board, including the fields you never practise.
- A new spot every round, anywhere on the scoring area
- 5, 3 or 1 point per dart, by its distance to the spot
- Every round at a glance, with hit rate, pace and what you need for a new record
- Callouts for a perfect round and a new best
- Classic rules by default, with variants for wide or tight zones, a new spot per dart, three misses or sudden death

The rules
How the darts accuracy drill works
Play with others and everyone throws at the same spots, round by round. The most points wins. On a tie, more darts in the inner zone decide it, then the middle zone, then the outer.
- Find the spotAt the start of each round the board in the app goes dark and one spot lights up, ringed by three zones. Everyone throws at the same spot that round.
- Throw three dartsEach dart scores by its distance to the spot: 5 points within 12 mm, 3 within 30 mm, 1 within 55 mm. Anything further out scores nothing, whatever field it hits.
- Play your roundsA run is 10 rounds by default, so the maximum is 150. Three darts in the inner zone make a perfect round of 15.
- Beat your recordYour total after the last round is your score. Sridu saves your best for each number of rounds and each variant.
In the game
The spot, and what each dart scored
In Zones only one point on the board matters each round, and the screen is built around it:
- The spot on the board: the rest of the board goes dark and the three zones light up with their points, 5 in the middle.
- What each dart scored: “+5”, “+3”, “+1” or “off target”, whatever field it hit. A treble away from the spot is worth nothing.
- Where the spot sits: the panel names the field underneath, such as “Spot in T8”, and the caller announces it when your turn starts.
- A perfect round in reach: after two darts in the inner zone, a hint tells you the third one makes a perfect 15.
- One cell per round: it fills up with the points that round scored, a perfect 15 turns gold and the current round updates live.
- Your pace and your record: your hit rate, a projection from your rounds so far such as “On course for 87”, your record for these settings and how much per round you need to beat it.
- Your darts per zone: how many landed in the inner, middle and outer zone, and how many missed.
- The big moments: a perfect round or a new best gets a callout, and a hint tells you when you are on your last round.
- Against others: the panel shows how far you lead or trail the best of the rest.
Setting · Zone size
Classic, wide or tight zones
Classic zones reach 12, 30 and 55 mm out from the spot. Go wide to warm up or tight to sharpen your aim. Here is the same spot with the same three darts at each size:
- ClassicDefault12 · 30 · 55 mm+5
- 18+3
- 1+1
- 4+1
The classic zones: a dart within 12 mm of the spot scores 5, within 30 mm 3, within 55 mm 1. Here the darts land 14, 34 and 50 mm away: 3, 1 and 1.
- WideEasier16 · 40 · 72 mm+9
- 18+5
- 1+3
- 4+1
Zones of 16, 40 and 72 mm for warming up or for newer players. The same three darts score 9 instead of 5. A perfect round is still 15.
- TightHarder8 · 20 · 38 mm+4
- 18+3
- 1+1
- 4off target
Zones of 8, 20 and 38 mm for sharp shooters. The inner zone is 16 mm across, twice the width of the treble bed. Now the third dart misses. Every size keeps its own record.
Setting · Spot
One spot per round, or one per dart
Classic gives you three darts at one spot, so you can adjust after the first. With a new spot for every dart, each one is a first dart:
- Per roundDefault+11
- 12+5
- 12+3
- 12+3
One spot for all three darts. After the first you know how it flew and can adjust the next two. Here the spot is in single 12, and 5, 3 and 3 make 11.
- Per dartHarder+8
- 12+3
- 13+5
- 19off target
A new spot for every dart. The board shows the next one as soon as a dart lands, so each dart is a first dart. It trains switching between targets, as in a three-dart checkout. Everyone still gets the same spots, dart by dart.
Setting · Misses
Unlimited, three, or sudden death
By default a miss only costs you its points. Set a limit and every dart outside the zones puts your run at risk:
- UnlimitedDefault+8
- 2+5
- 10off target
- 2+3
A dart outside the zones only costs you its points, and you always play every round.
- 3 missesHarder♥♡♡+1
- 2+1
- 7off target
- –Dart 3
The third dart outside the zones ends your run and the rounds that are left are lost. Hearts on your card show how many misses you have left. On the last one a hint warns you and the panel turns amber.
- Sudden deathHardest♡Out
- 2+5
- 2+3
- 13run over
The first dart outside the zones ends your run, so your score is what you made before it. In a group, anyone who is out watches the others play on.
Setup
Start a run
Zones sits with the training games on the play screen. Pick it, choose your settings and start. Each combination of settings keeps its own record.
- PlayersPlay alone for a record, or against friends or bots.
- RoundsAnything from 1 to 30 on a slider. 10 is the classic length, 20 makes a long run.
- Zone sizeClassic (the default), wide or tight. See zone size.
- SpotPer round (the default) or per dart. See spot.
- MissesUnlimited (the default), 3 misses or sudden death. See misses.
- HandicapsGive each player their own zone size (wide, classic or tight) and a head start in points. A beginner can throw at wide zones while everyone else plays classic.
- Who throws firstThe top of the list, a bull-off or random.
Tips
Hit the spot more often
- Find it first. Before the first dart, take a second to locate the spot on your real board. The panel tells you which field it is in.
- Aim small. Pick out the exact point rather than the field around it. The inner zone is only 24 mm across.
- Ignore the wires. Only the distance counts. When the spot sits on a wire, a dart in the next field scores just the same.
- Use the cameras or tap the board. Then every dart counts exactly where it landed. A dart typed in as a field counts at the centre of that field, and a single at the centre of the inner single.
- Try a spot per dart. Three different targets in one visit train the switch you need for a three-dart checkout.
- Go wide to warm up and tight for a challenge. Each size keeps its own record, so you always have something to beat.

More ways to play
Closer is better against friends too: in Bowls the dart nearest the jack takes the end, measured to the millimetre.
