Dart Bingo

In Dart Bingo every player gets a card of their own, filled with fields of the board: whole numbers, doubles, trebles and sometimes the bull. Hit a field and you cross it off. The first to fill a row across, down or diagonally wins.

  • One player or more, bots welcome
  • A 3 × 3 or a 4 × 4 card
  • Numbers, doubles, trebles and the bull
  • Unrated, so it never touches your average

BINGO!
Ben crosses off T18 and needs one more field. His 5 is no use to him: the 5 is on Anna’s card, not his. Anna needs D16 for the diagonal. Her single 16 doesn’t count, then T19 and D16 do: BINGO. The board lights the fields still open on the card of the player at the oche, as in the app.

The rules

How Dart Bingo works

Three darts a visit, and every hit that fits your card crosses a field off.

  1. A card of your ownEveryone gets a different card of 3 × 3 fields, and every leg deals new ones. A number appears on a card once at most.
  2. Hit the fieldA whole number like 17 takes any part of the 17. D8 needs the double, T19 the treble, and the bull field takes the outer or the inner bull.
  3. Only your own card countsYour darts cross off fields on your card and nowhere else. A field that is only on another player’s card stays open for them.
  4. Fill a rowThe first player with a full row across, down or diagonally wins the leg. BINGO.

The fields

What a field asks for

Four kinds of field, and the darts that cross them off.

  • 17
    A whole number
    1. 17✓
    2. D17✓
    3. T17✓

Any part of the 17 counts: the singles, the double and the treble.

  • D8
    A double
    1. D8✓
    2. 8✗
    3. T8✗

Only the double ring of the 8. A single or a treble 8 leaves it open.

  • T19
    A treble
    1. T19✓
    2. 19✗
    3. D19✗

Only the treble ring of the 19, the small strip in the middle of the segment.

  • Bull
    The bull
    1. 25✓
    2. 50✓

The outer and the inner bull both count.

Your card

Your darts, your card

Ben throws a 5. Anna has a 5 on her card, Ben doesn’t.

Fields

Three kinds of card

Before the game you decide how hard the fields are.

  • Numbers

Whole numbers only, so any part of the segment counts. The easy one.

  • Mixed

    Default

The classic. About half the fields are whole numbers, the rest doubles and trebles.

  • Doubles & trebles

Only the rings count, half doubles, half trebles. The hard one.

Every number appears at most once on a card. The bull can turn up on any card, and it always takes the outer or the inner bull.

Settings

Three settings to play with

The defaults give the classic game: a 3 × 3 card, mixed fields and one row to win.

  • CardDefault: 3 × 3
    3 × 39 fields · 8 rows
    4 × 416 fields · 10 rows

4 × 4 has 16 fields, and a row needs four of them. Every leg deals new cards.

  • FieldsDefault: Mixed
    1. Numbers
    2. Mixed
    3. Doubles & trebles
    17D8T19Bull

Mixed is the classic: numbers, doubles and trebles. Numbers only is easy, doubles and trebles only is hard.

  • Wins withDefault: a row
    A row
    Full card

A row: across, down or diagonal, the classic. Full card: every field has to go.

In the game

What you see on screen

Your card sits in the middle, the others smaller next to it.

  • The cards: crossed-off fields turn green with a ring, and the winning row lights up in full. Doubles are amber, trebles blue.
  • The big number: Fields to a full row counts down how many fields you still need. With Full card it reads Fields left on your card.
  • The hint line: it lists the open fields of the row you are closest to, for example Closest row: D8 · 5.
  • The board: the fields still open on your card light up, so you see at a glance where to aim.
  • A wrong dart? Tap its chip and correct it, as in every other mode. The card updates with the correction.

Tips

How to fill a row sooner

If you like rows, try Tic-Tac-Toe and Connect Four next. In Battleship you hunt for fields on the board instead.

  • Take the middle early. On a 3 × 3 card the middle field is part of four rows, a corner of three and an edge field of only two.
  • Stay on one row. Two fields crossed off in the same row bring you closer than three spread over the card. The hint line shows which row is nearest.
  • Aim at the big single. A whole number counts with any part of the segment, so the wide single area is the safest target.
  • Pick rows with easy fields. A row of 17, 5 and the bull is quicker to fill than one with D8 and T19.
  • Mind the ring. For D8 only the double counts. A single 8 leaves the field open, so on a ring field aim at the ring.
