Four new darts challenges, every hour

At the top of every hour Sridu sets four darts challenges, from easy to extreme, and everyone in your league gets the same four. Finish one before the clock runs out and you earn points that move you up the leagues. Three daily goals and one day streak sit on the same page, so there is always a reason to throw a few darts, even when nobody else is around.

  • Four new tasks on the hour
  • Easy to extreme, 10 to 150 points

Open Challenges in the app and the bar at the top shows your streak (days in a row with all three daily goals or a challenge won), your league and the XP you have earned today. Below that come your three daily goals, then the hourly challenge, and at the bottom everything you played today.

  • One day streakA day counts when you finish all three daily goals or win at least one hourly challenge. Every day of the streak before today adds 5 % to your challenge points, up to +50 %. Miss a day and the streak starts again at one.
  • Three daily goalsOne easy, one normal and one hard, such as Win 3 legs or Check out 3 times. They count the games you play anyway, change at midnight and pay 20 XP each, plus 30 for all three. They belong to Level & badges, so you see them where progress is switched on, as on play.sridu.com.
  • Today on the start pageA small Today card on the start page shows your player level, the three daily goals and how many of this hour’s four tasks you have done, with the countdown. Tap the level to see your badges, or the challenge to come here.
  • Played todayThe list at the bottom shows every challenge you played today, missed ones too, with the time it took and the points. Your full record lives in your profile under Challenges.

On the hour

Pick a task, beat the clock

You play a challenge like any game of darts: three darts a visit, as many visits as you need. The only limit is the clock. Open Challenges in the app to see this hour’s four tasks and a countdown to the next four.

  1. Choose a taskEasy, normal, hard or extreme. Each card shows the task, the time you get and the points it pays.
  2. Press StartYour clock starts when you press it, not on the hour. You get 15 minutes for easy, 20 for normal and 60 for hard and extreme.
  3. Throw as usualScore with cameras or tap your darts in. After every dart the app shows what is left to do, and every hit that counts flashes up.
  4. Collect the pointsFinish in time and the points count towards your league, and as XP towards your player level. Then move on to the next task.

  • All four in one hourYou can play all four tasks of an hour, one after another. Only one clock runs at a time, so the other Start buttons are locked while a challenge is on.
  • The clock is yoursStart a challenge at 14:55 and it keeps its full time, well past 15:00. If you step away, the clock keeps running, and you pick up where you left off when you come back.
  • One go per taskA challenge runs in real time and cannot be paused. If you give up, it counts as missed. You get one go at each task per hour.
  • In the middle of a matchIf everyone agrees to a break, you can use the free board for a challenge. The match is put on hold and comes back paused, exactly where you left it.

How hard is hard?

Darts challenges built for your league

The difficulty is not guesswork. Each league stands for a 3-dart average. Sridu simulates thousands of visits at that average, with the same scatter as its bots but a little wider, because people throw less evenly than bots. Each task is then set so that about 85 % of the league finish the easy one in time, 55 % the normal one, 30 % the hard one and 10 % the extreme one.

Everyone in a league gets the same four tasks in the same hour. That keeps the leaderboard fair, because you and the rest of your league were aiming at exactly the same thing.

  • Many kinds of task. Hit a segment a set number of times, several hits in one visit, a big score, a checkout, a points total against the clock, visits in a row above a score, a set of segments, a ladder of checkouts, and a Shanghai.
  • Four different kinds. The four tasks of an hour are always of different kinds, so you never get the same thing four times.
  • Examples from real hours. “2 visits of 80+ in a row” in 15 minutes, “check out 100 → 120 → 140” in 60, “Shanghai on the 19”, “3× D8”, “collect 1,950 points” or “2× check out 167”.
  • A bust is not the end. In checkout tasks a bust does not end your visit. The score is reset and your next dart goes at it again. The same happens when what is left can no longer be checked out with the darts in your hand.
  • Aim higher. Throwing better than your league? Tap Play a harder league under the tasks and play a higher league’s tasks for +50 % points per league above yours. Lower leagues are not open to you.

What’s left and how long you have

A challenge runs in the normal game view. The task and its clock sit at the top. The middle shows what matters right now, such as the score to check out, the points still to collect or the hits in this visit. When you finish, a card shows what you earned and why.

Points and bonuses

Three bonuses on top

Every challenge you finish pays its base points: 10, 25, 60 or 150. Each bonus is worked out from those base points, and the bonuses add up.

  • +50 %For finishing in half the time: easy in under 7:30, normal in under 10 minutes, hard and extreme in under 30.
  • +5 %For each day of your streak before today. A day counts when you win a challenge or finish all three daily goals. It tops out at +50 % on day 11.
  • +50 %For each league above your own when you play a higher league’s tasks.
  • 375What an extreme challenge pays one league up, finished in half the time, with a streak of 11 days or more.
  • Points move you upYour challenge points decide your league. After each challenge the result card shows where you stand, such as League Sharpshooter · +99 points · 746 more to Master, and a move up gets a Promoted banner.
  • Streaks are strictMiss a day and your streak goes back to one. Your best ever streak is kept in your profile and in the Daily streak badge.

Leagues and titles

From Rookie to Immortal

Your challenge points put you in one of six leagues, and your league decides which tasks you get. A league here is a skill group, not a season with fixtures: everyone in it gets the same four tasks each hour and shares one leaderboard. Above Grandmaster come five titles that take years of challenges to reach, and there you keep playing the Grandmaster tasks.

  • Six leagues, set for a 3-dart average of 35, 45, 55, 65, 80 and 95: Rookie, Regular, Challenger, Sharpshooter, Master and Grandmaster.
  • How you move up. Everyone starts in Rookie. Regular starts at 125 challenge points, Challenger at 500, Sharpshooter at 1,350, Master at 2,975 and Grandmaster at 6,300. Strong players do not have to wait, though. Play a harder league and its tasks pay the league bonus.
  • Five titles above: Champion at 13,175 points, Titan at 25,850, Icon at 45,725, Legend at 80,975 and Immortal at 126,225.
  • The whole ladder. Tap your league at the top of the Challenges page or in your profile to open Leagues & titles, with your place and the points you need for the next step.

Leaderboards

Three leaderboards to climb

The leaderboard has three tabs, each with one fixed window, so everyone compares the same thing. Every board puts the top three on a podium and shows your own card: your place, the gap to the next one and what would close it. Below come the top ten and the players around you.

The leaderboard with sample players. Switch between the weekly league, skill and training: each board has a podium, your own card with what it takes to move up, and the places around you.
  • Weekly leaguePoints from this week’s hourly challenges, in your own league or, with one switch, in all of them. It starts again from zero every Monday. A task pays its base points, +50 % for each league above Rookie and +50 % for half the time. There is no streak bonus here: the board rewards good darts, not turning up every day.
  • This hourOne switch away, the hour table shows who in your league cleared which of the four tasks, and how fast. Who made it this hour? on the Challenges page opens it straight away.
  • SkillYour X01 average over the last 30 days is the main ranking, from 45 darts. Beside it are the records: highest finish, best leg and 180s, plus checkout rate from 10 attempts and Cricket MPR from 30 darts, both over 30 days. The other records count everything a server keeps, 90 days unless its owner changed that, or everything on your device. Tap a record to see its board.
  • TrainingSix disciplines with one fixed setting each, so everyone throws the same task: Bob’s 27, Around the Clock, Checkout King from 2 to 170, 121, Catch 40 from 61 to 100 and the JDC Challenge. Every other game and setting keeps its own board too. You find it with the search on that tab, at the end of a game or in your profile.
  • Medals and movementFrom five players there are medals: gold for the top 10 %, silver for the top 25 % and bronze for the top half. Your card tells you how many places it is to the next one, and an arrow shows how far you moved since yesterday.
  • What countsEvery X01 and Cricket match you play as an individual, not in a team, with no handicap, standard rules and a starting score from the setup screen. You can play against a bot, but bots never appear on the board. Training runs count with their best run, and online the server replays every run dart by dart first.

This device or online

One board at home, a shared one online

Every device keeps its own leaderboard for everyone who plays on it. It needs no server or account and works offline too. If the app runs from a server with the leaderboard switched on, such as play.sridu.com or your own server, you also get a second board called Online, shared by everyone who plays on that server.

  1. Take partOpen the leaderboard, tap Take part and choose the name others will see. Results from the past week that were waiting on this device are sent as well.
  2. PlayEvery challenge and match you finish is sent automatically. The result card shows your place for this hour.
  3. Offline for a while? Results are kept on the device for up to a week and sent as soon as the server can be reached again.
  4. Leave any timeYour name and all your results are deleted from the server. Everything on your device stays.

What the server stores: the name you chose and your results. It has no address, no device details and no account. The online board shows the top 100, plus your own line if you are further down.

Checked results

Every dart replayed on the server

The app does not just send a final score. It sends every dart of the challenge or match with a timestamp, and the server checks them with the same code the app uses for scoring.

To be honest, a browser cannot prove who stood at the oche, and a determined cheat could still fake a run dart by dart in real time. That is plenty for a board among friends or a community, but not for prize money.

  • The right task. The server works out the four tasks for that hour and league by itself. A run at any other task does not count.
  • Replayed dart by dart. Every dart goes through the game logic again. The task must be completed with the last dart, and nothing may be thrown after it.
  • Realistic timing. Darts in a visit must be at least 0.12 seconds apart and visits at least 2 seconds apart. Every dart must fall within the task’s time limit, and none may be dated in the future.
  • Camera-verified. When the cameras saw every dart, with no corrections, no undo and no demo, the result gets a small green camera mark. The Camera only switch shows just those.
  • The owner decides. A server owner can accept camera results only and can turn off corrections in challenges. Players on that server then see a Camera only chip on the board.

FAQ

Good to know

Do I need cameras for the challenges?

No. Every challenge works when you tap your darts in on the board. Your results still count on the leaderboard, just without the green camera mark. To try camera scoring, start the demo, or read about camera scoring.

Do I need an account?

No. Your points, league, streak, badges and your device’s leaderboard are stored in your browser. You only choose a name for the online board, and the server keeps nothing but that name and your results.

When do the tasks change?

On the hour, and the page shows a countdown to it. A challenge you have already started keeps its own clock, even past the hour.

The tasks are too easy for me. What now?

Tap Play a harder league under the tasks. You get that league’s tasks and +50 % points for each league you move up. Your own league rises with your points, so it catches up as you play.

Can several of us play on one board?

Yes. Each player on the device has their own points, league, streak and badges. Pick your name at the top of the Challenges page before you start. The device’s leaderboard lists all of you.

What if I clear my browser?

Then your progress on that device is lost. If you run Sridu on your own server at home, the server also keeps player data, including challenges, in its data folder, and any browser that uses it gets the data back. See self-hosting.
