How to play Sridu

26 ways to play, and one way to set them all up. Here you learn how a game is started, what every setting does, and every mode has its own page with its rules and options.

Basics

Start a game in four taps

Every mode is set up the same way: pick it, set its rules, add players, start.

  1. Pick a modeTap it on the start page. For X01 the chips 301, 501 and 701 open the setup with that score straight away.
  2. Set the rulesEvery mode has its own, explained below. Legs and sets come on top: one leg, first to 2, first to 3, or any number up to 99.
  3. Add playersUp to six players, a bot with an average from 15 to 110, or an online opponent from the lobby. From three players on you can form teams. The switch is always there and turns on from the third player.
  4. StartChoose who throws first: the top of the list, a bull-off or random. After every leg the first throw moves on to the next player.
  • HandicapsEach player can get their own rules, so a beginner and a pro can play a fair match. In X01 that is their own starting score, check-out and double in; in other modes a head start. Tap Handicap next to the player.
  • BotsA bot plays by the same rules as everybody. It aims like a human, and the dart lands with a realistic scatter around the target. Whatever it hits is what counts.
  • TeamsA team shares one score and its players throw in turn. When teams come on, the list is split alternately; tap the letter next to a player to change their team. In games of exactly two sides (Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect Four) teams turn on by themselves from three players, and for teams of different size you choose: every side throws equally often, or every player does. The handicap of the team’s first player applies.
  • Bull-offEverybody throws one dart at the bull. A magnified view shows the distance in millimetres, and the closest one starts.

Basics

During the game

The cameras keep score. You only step in when something is off.

  • Throw, then pull. After three darts just pull them out. The next visit starts by itself.
  • Correct a dart. Tap its chip under the player’s name, then tap the right field on the board. Undo brings back the last dart or the last visit.
  • An orange dart means the detection wasn’t sure, for example right on a wire. Check it; a tone and the caller remind you.
  • Bounce-outs and darts that fall out don’t count. With hand detection on, a dart pushed in by hand doesn’t count either.
  • No cameras? Tap the board to enter your darts. With a mouse, the field under the pointer lights up with its name before you click. Outside the doubles it says 0, and that is how a miss goes in.
  • Pause. In matches and mini games. With players at other boards everybody has to agree; in a match you can play a challenge in between and come back exactly where you were.
  • Bumped a camera or the light changed? The crosshair button next to Pause measures the cameras again and takes a fresh look at the empty board. Without cameras it leads to setting them up.
  • Phone as a second screen. Menu → Connect another device, scan the QR code, and a phone or tablet follows the match with statistics. It may correct throws, or only watch.

Basics

App settings

Start page → Settings. They belong to the device, so every board can have its own.

  • LanguageNine languages. Applies to this browser.
  • Throw suggestionIn X01, the checkout suggestion and the marker on the board. In Around the Clock and similar modes the target always stays marked, because there it is part of the game.
  • Check throwsWhen the detection is unsure about a dart, it is marked orange, and a tone and the caller ask you to check it. Off: whatever was measured simply counts.
  • End the visit by itselfThree darts counted and nothing happens: the Next button fills up for 15 seconds and then moves on. Off: the game waits until the darts are pulled.
  • Pass over idle playersNo dart and no input for 60 seconds: the player is skipped, so an abandoned board doesn’t hold up a match.
  • Camera scanShows how the cameras work out the position of every dart: the measured axes shoot across the board.
  • Sounds[Placeholder: sound on/off and the two sound styles, Subtle and Machine.]
  • Animations[Placeholder: what the animations setting changes.]

The caller

A voice that calls the game like on TV, using your system’s text-to-speech voices. Open it with Caller settings during a game.

  • Voice, speed, volumeAutomatic picks the best voice installed. Hear a sample tries it out.
  • Calling languageFollows the app by default. Classic English calling sounds like the pros: “One hundred and eighty!”
  • Call every dart“Treble twenty” for every dart, on top of the visit total.
  • Call the rest“Anna, you require 40” as soon as a finish is on.
  • Call the playersAnnounces who is up next.
