Bowling Darts
Bowling darts puts ten-pin bowling on the dartboard. Your first dart picks the lane, the next two are your balls: the treble knocks down all ten pins, the double nine, the singles seven or three. Strikes and spares score just like at the alley, and 300 is the perfect game.

The rules
How bowling darts works
A visit is a frame. Ten frames make a game, and the most pins win.
- Pick your laneThe first dart of the visit picks the lane: the number it lands in, whichever ring. A dart in the bull or off the board makes it a gutter frame, worth nothing.
- Bowl on that laneYour next two darts are your two balls. On your lane the treble knocks down all ten pins, the double nine, the small inner single seven and the big outer single three. Anything else knocks nothing down.
- Strike or spareAll ten with the first ball is a strike, and the frame is over. The rest with the second ball is a spare. A strike scores 10 plus your next two balls, a spare 10 plus the next ball, just like at the alley.
- Bonus balls in the tenthA strike or a spare in the tenth frame brings bonus balls, so you throw on, on the same lane. After ten frames the highest score wins the leg.
The lane
Pins per ring
Once you have a lane, the app lights it up on the board and writes the pins on each ring. Here is lane 20:
- 10TrebleKnocks down all ten. With the first ball of a frame that’s a strike.
- 9DoubleNine pins. One stays standing, and any hit on the lane with the next ball makes the spare.
- 7Inner singleThe small single between the bull and the treble: seven pins.
- 3Outer singleThe big single between the treble and the double: three pins.
- 0Anything elseAnother number, the bull or a miss: a gutter ball.
The same single twice in a frame knocks nothing more. And the two singles need the cameras: a dart typed in by its field has no position on the board, so it counts as the big outer single. The small inner single only comes with camera scoring.

The tenth frame
Bonus balls and the perfect game
In the tenth, a strike or a spare isn’t the end of your game. You throw on with your next visit, on the same lane.

Settings
Nothing to set
Bowling has no options of its own. Ten frames, three darts a frame and the pins per ring are always the same.

One visit per frame. The bonus balls of the tenth frame come as an extra visit right after it.
- Three darts a frameFixed
- 20Lane
- 1Ball 1
- 2Ball 2
The first dart picks the lane, the other two are your two balls. After a strike the frame is over.

- 3Outer single
The same on every lane. A dart typed in by its field counts as the big outer single, so the small inner single needs camera scoring.
In the game
What you see on screen
The big number counts the pins, and the score sheet sits below it.
- The label: above the big number you see the frame and the lane, for example Frame 4/10 · Lane 20.
- The big number: before your first dart it reads Lane?. Then it shows the pins still standing, and at the end of the frame how many you knocked down.
- The hint line: Your first dart picks the lane: the number it lands in, then Treble 10 · double 9 · inner single 7 · outer single 3. A strike or a spare shows as STRIKE! or SPARE!, a lost frame as Gutter frame: no lane.
- Your darts: each chip says what it did: Lane 20, 7 pins, Strike, Spare or Gutter.
- The score sheet: ten frames per player, the balls on top and the running total below. Your player card shows your score, the frame you’re in and your strikes.
- A wrong dart? Tap its chip and correct it, as in every other mode. The pins and the sheet update with it.

Tips
How to bowl a higher score
- Aim the lane dart at the big single. It only has to land in a number, any ring will do. Only the bull or a miss costs you the frame, so stay away from the middle.
- Go for the treble with the first ball. It’s the only strike. Miss it but stay on the lane and you still knock down 9, 7 or 3, and any other ring of the lane makes the spare.
- Change ring after a single. Hitting the same single twice knocks nothing else down. After the inner single the outer one finishes the spare, and the other way round.
- Strikes in a row pay. A strike counts your next two balls, so two strikes back to back make the first one worth at least 20.
- Finish strong in the tenth. A strike or a spare there brings bonus balls, so the last frame alone can be worth 30.
More sport on the board? Golf also gives every ring of one number its own value, only there the fewest strokes win. In bowls you throw close to the jack, and tennis darts plays points, games and sets.
