A profile for every player at your board

The first time you play a match in Sridu, your name becomes a profile with a permanent ID. Your matches, badges and challenge points are all filed under that ID. You can rename yourself, lock the profile with a PIN or take it to a new phone and keep every dart. It lives in your browser, and there is no account.

  • A permanent ID such as K7QF-2M9X
  • Pick yourself from the list instead of typing
  • Rename, merge or lock with a PIN
  • Stored on your device, no account

A profile in the app, with sample data: the players on this device, the ID of the one selected and the Profile menu that renames, locks, merges or deletes it. Mara’s profile has a PIN.

The basics

An ID behind every name

Sridu tells players apart by an ID, a random code of eight letters and digits such as K7QF-2M9X. You find it next to the name at the top of the profile. The name is only what the scoreboard shows, and you can change it whenever you like.

Because everything hangs off the ID, a new name, a new phone or a merge never costs you a match.

  • When a profile startsAs soon as a match with a new name is saved. That happens when the match ends, or once the first dart is thrown if you call it off. A name you have only typed into the list is not a profile yet.
  • What belongs to itEvery match the player took part in, with the position of each dart. Their badges, player level, challenge points, league and day streak, and the personal records from the drills. If the player has joined the online leaderboard, that entry goes with the profile too.
  • One name, one personOn a device, and on every device that shares your own server, a name belongs to one profile. Capitals and extra spaces don’t count, so tobias and Tobias are the same name. A name can be up to 20 characters long.
  • Who has no profileBots never get one. An online opponent at their own board has a profile on their own device, not on yours. Team matches are saved but don’t count towards any one member.
  • Easy to read outIDs leave out 0, O, 1, I and L, so nobody mixes them up.

Before the match

Pick yourself from the list

Tap a name field in the player list and Sridu shows the profiles on this device, the most recent first. A few letters narrow it down. Each entry says when that player last played and how many games they have, or no games yet. How the rest of the setup works is in How to play.

  • Recently. Below the list, the players from the last few matches wait as chips. One tap puts them in, in place of an untouched Player 2.
  • Someone new. The last entry adds what you typed as a new player, for example New player “Sam”.
  • Same name, different person. If there is already a Tobias, the entry reads Another player called “Tobias”. The newcomer becomes Tobias 2 with the 2 selected, so you can type an initial over it.
  • Bots make room. A bot never takes the name of a real player. Add a person whose name a bot is using and the bot picks another one.

What each profile keeps

Open Profile and tap a name at the top. Everything below belongs to that player: the overview, the figures of each mode, the badges and the challenges. The statistics page explains each figure in detail.

One player’s figures in four of the modes, as the Statistics tab of the profile shows them. X01 comes in three groups: scoring, finish and result. Sample data.
  • Figures per modeAverage, first 9 and checkout rate in X01, MPR in Cricket, the hit rate in Around the Clock and a headline figure for every other rated mode. Each one over the last 30 days, 90 days or all time, with a trend.
  • Every dart with a positionThe heatmap, the hits per number and the rings are built from the player’s own darts only, never from the opponent’s.
  • Badges and challengesBoth have their own tab. Points, league and day streak from the hourly challenges belong to the profile as well, and so do the records from drills such as Checkout King, your player level and the looks you have unlocked.
  • Comparison and recent gamesEach mode sets the player against another profile on the device, figure by figure, and ranks everyone here, best first. The recent games list the latest matches, with value and winner.

Your profile

Rename, lock, merge or delete

All four are in the Profile menu next to the name. If a profile has a PIN, each of them asks for it first.

  • RenameAll games and statistics stay with the profile. The new name must not belong to another profile.
  • Set PINFour to eight digits. After that, the profile can only be picked for a match with the PIN. Sridu asks once per visit and again after a reload. It stops friends playing under your name, but it is not real security: anyone at the device can still look at your statistics.
  • MergeFor one person with two profiles, say Tobias and Tobi. Choose who they really are, and all games and challenge progress move to that profile. Where both have a record, the better one stays.
  • DeleteThe profile disappears from the lists and the statistics, and its challenge progress is deleted. Its matches are kept, because they belong to the opponents too.

Two profiles are called “Tobias” – the same person?

Above, the question in the profile when two profiles share a name. Merge keeps the one with more games. Below, a profile with a PIN as it asks before a match.

Two profiles with one name? That happens when two devices each made a Tobias and later share their data, through your own server or a backup file. The profile then asks if they are the same person. Merge joins them, Rename gives the second one a name of its own.

In the lobby

What other players see

In the online lobby, a tap on a name opens that player’s profile card. Yours is filled from the profile on your device that has the name you use in the lobby. Tap your own name and My profile shows the card the way others see it.

  • On the card. Your 3-dart average with a level to match, from Pub player up to Tour card, and your form over the last twelve X01 matches. Wins and losses, first 9, checkout rate, highest checkout, best leg and best visit. Your 100+, 140+ and 180 counts, your badges, your darts thrown and when you last played.
  • Never on the card. Your player ID and PIN, single matches, the heatmap and the figures of the other game modes. Your full profile stays on your device.
  • Verified or your own. With an online profile on the leaderboard, the server works out your average itself from the darts it replayed. Others then see it with a tick as verified, along with your 180s, best finish and best leg. Everything else your device sends itself, and others see it muted as your own figures.
  • Only while you are there. The card goes out while you have the lobby on and is not saved anywhere. Once you have left, others only see your average.

Take your profile with you

On the old device, open Profile, tap ⋯ Data, then Switch device, and choose the player. Scan the QR code with the new device, check that both show the same four digits and tap Allow. The profile arrives with its ID, every match and its challenge progress. The steps in detail are on the statistics page.

FAQ

Good to know

Do I need an account?

No. Profiles, matches and challenge progress are stored in your browser. The matches go into its database, the rest into its local storage. There is no login and no password.

Does anything about my profile leave my device?

Only in four cases. In the lobby, others see your profile card. If you join the online leaderboard, your name and results go to it. Switch device sends a profile straight to your other device, encrypted. And on your own server, profiles, matches and challenge progress are also kept in the server’s data folder. play.sridu.com has no such folder.

Can my profile stay in sync on two devices?

With your own server, yes. Every browser that uses it shares the same profiles and matches. Without one, Switch device copies a profile across, and each later transfer adds the matches that are new.

Two of us are called Tobias. Does that work?

Yes, with two names that differ a little. Pick Another player called “Tobias” in the list and add an initial, such as Tobias M. The scoreboard then shows at a glance whose turn it is.

I forgot my PIN. What now?

There is no account behind the PIN, so Sridu cannot reset it. Without it, the profile can’t be picked, renamed, merged or deleted. Its statistics stay visible. Choose a PIN you will remember, and remember it is only there to keep friends honest.

What happens if I clear my browser?

Then the profiles on that device are gone, with their matches. Export a backup now and then, or keep a copy of your profile on a second device. On your own server the data is also in its data folder.

Play one match and your profile is there

Type your name into the player list, throw a leg of X01 and open Profile. Your ID is already next to your name. For more than one board, see Play together.
